GIRLZ GUIDEZ

STICKY SITUATION NUMBER 1:
TURNING UP IN THE SAME DRESS AS SOMEONE ELSE AT A PARTY

Picture the scene - you are excited about a big party, you buy a new dress and when you turn up, another girl is wearing exactly the same one.

What do you do in this sticky situation!? PUDZ has the answers!

  1. Don't panic! The more you look flustered the more attention you will draw to the situation - stay composed and look confident in your gorgeous dress.
  2. Try to find some scissors and customise your dress - make your long skirt short or chop in some funky angled styles - you'll look different in minutes!
  3. Change your hairstyle - if she has her hair in an up-do, you have yours down or vice versa - top up your makeup and make it extra striking - people will be so focused on your fabulous face they won't notice your dress.
  4. Borrow/swap your friends accessories - earrings, necklaces and bangles - it is amazing how customisation will make your outfit look individual.
  5. If all of this fails, ring a friend who might be somewhere else close by and ask her to swap clothes with you. Or, you could always introduce yourself to the other girl in the same outfit, laugh the whole situation off and enjoy yourselves nonetheless!

If the whole experience does end up to be a bit of a nightmare then it is the perfect excuse to indulge - get yourself a delicious PUDZ dessert and it will all seem like a distant memory!

STICKY SITUATION NUMBER 2:
THE 'X' FACTOR

Getting over a break-up is horrible and every girl is likely to experience it at some stage. So, what do you do if you bump into him when not feeling your best?

How's a girl to get over this sticky situation?

  1. Hide! - It may not be the most mature approach but if you genuinely can't face him and he has not spotted you yet, jump into that doorway, duck behind a tree or squeeze between a rail of clothes in a shop.
  2. Smile and chat/ exaggerate - Whether things have been going well for you since you split up or not, say that you are doing amazingly. You have just got a loan through for your new business idea, are off travelling the world or have met the man of your dreams. It will be highly satisfying to watch his chin hit the floor - but be careful as this one could really catch you out!
  3. Ignore him completely - This may sound like the hardest thing to do, but if you are feeling a bit tearful or he genuinely is not worth your time of day, just hold your head up high and keep striding on - he is an ex for a reason!
  4. Grab the nearest man - Feeling highly vengeful/ mischievous?? Then grab the nearest man you see and start chatting animatedly - by the time the stranger has stopped being polite and realised he doesn't know you, your ex will be far gone and wondering who is your new friend or how fantastic you look now. This tactic needs to be approached with caution - watch out for any unsavoury characters which might just mean your get your ex's pity rather than envy.
  5. Never ever - Cry in front of him or get upset and have a row in the street or any pubic place. There will be a time for these types of conversations and if he is worth it you can hold on and arrange it properly. If he is not worth it then best thing to do is adopt one of the other coping tips above, then call a friend and let them remind you why he's not worth it.

If all else fails, a sweet treat will always lift your mood. PUDZ have introduced three new delicious varieties this autumn to indulge yourself and forget about the weather and anything else! Seriously Sticky Ginger, Luscious Lemon Sponge and Luxurious Lemon Sponge with Red Berry Sauce are all deliciously warming and indulgent - the perfect treat now the nights are drawing in.

STICKY SITUATION NUMBER 3:

A VISIT FROM THE MOTHER-IN-LAW!

The Mother in Law is on her way over for the annual visit. More than likely she announced the arrival of this joyous event only a few hours ago, so the pressure is on to impress and stay in her good books. Let PUDZ get you out of this sticky situation!

  1. You ARE pleased to see her. Whether this is true or not, make her feel welcome. A hug, a hello, and a warm smile (try not to look too forced!) go a long way. But don't go too overboard, we don't want her making this visit a regular occurrence.
  2. Make sure the house is tidy, the kids are on their best behaviour and you have your most 'in control' outfit on (you'll probably have to dig it out from the back of the wardrobe!) Show her you're just as capable as she was in 'her day'!
  3. Endless supplies of tea/wine/gin/sherry must be available. It'll either make her a bit happier or send her to sleep. Either is good. Make sure your hubby is on hand to serve the drinks and is there for moral support! He cannot make the excuse he put up with her for years so he's exempt today!
  4. Talk about her. Everyone likes their ego stroked. You love her outfit, where is she going on her Turkey and Tinsel this year, how is her cataract…you get the idea!
  5. Don't burn the dinner! And if you do, do not go to the chip shop as a substitute! Naturally, if you serve PUDZ delicious desserts for pudding you will have her eating out of your hand. If she likes a traditional pud, then maybe Sinfully Sweet Sticky Toffee or Seriously Sticky Ginger would tempt her the most.

Make sure you save a PUDZ for yourself to relax and put your feet up after she has gone! With three new fantastic varieties to choose from - Luxurious Lemon Sponge with Red Berry Sauce, Seriously Sticky Ginger Pudding and Luscious Lemon Sponge - you will soon forget the stresses of the day.
